Andover driver involved in fatal crash on A303 near Stonehenge

A 66-year-old woman died in a crash on the A303 in Wiltshire on Saturday evening.

The victim, a rear seat passenger in a blue Honda Insight, died as a result of multiple injuries at the scene of the incident at Winterbourne Stoke, between Stonehenge and Wylye at 8.15pm.

The other car involved, a black Ford Focus, was driven by a 63-year-old woman from the Andover area.

The Honda, driven by a 77-year-old man from the St Austell area, was headed west while the Ford was travelling east towards Andover.

The busy A303 is single carriageway for a lengthy section between Scotland Lodge and Stonehenge Both drivers suffered injuries and were taken to Salisbury District Hospital and the A303 was closed for several hours.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
